Engineering
As traffic congestion increases and liability from traffic accidents continues to grow, many Agencies in the US are requiring professionally prepared traffic control plans. These plans are typically required before the agency will issue a permit, or may be required for a public works contract.
TMI can design and produce short and long-term temporary traffic control plans ideal for your job. These plans may be for a simple, one-day single-lane closure or as complicated as a multi-phase project that requires striping and detours. Our plans will ensure safety and efficiency for both your job site and the general public.
Types of Plans
- Typical Plans
- In some situations, a pre-drawn “typical” plan can be submitted with little or no modification, easing both your budget and your schedule.
- Standard Plans
- These plans are drawn based on little information about the existing site conditions, and but are more complicated than a typical plan, and are site specific. Turnaround on these plans is fairly quick, and the costs vary depending on the project.
- Engineered Plans
- The plans are site-specific, and drawn to scale showing all relevant existing conditions. Additional time is required to allow for a field survey, as wells as review by our in-house engineer. Pricing is dependent on the project size and requirements, and is usually based on number of sheets.
- Striping Plans
- This plan is a type of engineered traffic plan wherein striping changes are being made. Special attention is paid to existing site conditions and accurate surveys, as the temporary striping that is installed or removed must be done with great accuracy.
